SRA Declares 1,400 Sq Metre Area in Dahisar West for Slum Rehabilitation

Mumbai: The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) has formally declared a 1,400 sq metre area in Shivshakti Nagar, Dahisar West, as a Slum Rehabilitation Area, marking another step towards the proposed rehabilitation scheme in the western suburbs.

The declaration was published by the SRA on September 17, 2026, under Section 3C(1) of the Maharashtra Slum Areas (Improvement, Clearance and Redevelopment) Act, 1971.

The notified property falls within Mauje Dahisar (West), Taluka Borivali, and is associated with the proposed Shivshakti Nagar SRA Cooperative Housing Society.

According to the SRA notification, the declared area covers portions of the following City Survey numbers:

– CTS No. 129 (part)
– CTS No. 130 (part)
– CTS No. 131
– CTS No. 132 (part)
– CTS No. 160 (part)
– CTS No. 161

The notification identifies the land as a proposed Slum Rehabilitation Area, bringing the specified parcel within the statutory framework governing SRA redevelopment.8

Part of Wider SRA Activity in Mumbai

The Dahisar West declaration comes amid continued activity by the SRA across Mumbai. In the days immediately preceding it, the authority published other declarations involving properties in Borivali, Dahisar and Parel-Sewri.

On September 16, the SRA published declarations concerning a 775.09 sq metre property in Borivali and a 2,106 sq metre property in Dahisar. Another declaration covered a 230.58 sq metre property in Parel-Sewri.

The latest Dahisar West notification therefore adds another identified parcel to Mumbai’s ongoing slum rehabilitation pipeline.

The declaration itself does not provide details on the project’s final rehabilitation configuration, developer appointment, construction timeline or the number of rehabilitation tenements. Those details would depend on subsequent approvals and stages of the proposed SRA scheme.
