Mahavir plaza tower located in Airoli, Navi Mumbai had to face fire break-out on Tuesday, because of its extinct firefighting system. It was found that the building had some irregularities in the complex that have endangered lives of local residents.

The accident broke out in flat number 2201 around 7 p.m on Tuesday, which came in control only after 9 p.m. The problem was not to get the fire in control but was to reach the flat which took time. There were many difficulties just to reach the location, as to control the fire it took only 10 minutes after arriving the place.

Mr Jagdish Patil from the NMMC Fire Department said, “We found illegalities in the building and the fire system was not functional either when our team reached there. Hence, we will issue a notice to the society”.

A flame official said a 69-meter sky-lift (snorkel) was utilized to drench the blazes, and that a noteworthy disaster was turned away because of quick activity by flame faculty.

Eknath Pawar (Fire officer of Airoli) said The vehicle was not able to enter the premises because of the structure of the entry space. The problem was the security cabin was blocking the way, but we managed to enter the premises but there was no area to move the vehicle further.

The building has parking on its 2nd floor and has a wedding hall on the 3rd floor. But, on that day the society had given the 2nd floor for the hall use, because of which all the vehicles were parked on the 1st floor, and had no space for the fire truck to move. Somehow, the Mumbai Fire Brigade team managed to reach and controlled the whole situation, but notice will be sent against this irresponsibility towards safety.

Also, all the Residential buildings have to make some extra care for the fire system, which they generally neglect and cause danger to their own life.
