BMC orders to Dosti Realty to stop construction at immediate affect

After the major incident stuck of landslide at Wadala, BMC has slapped a notice of “stop work” at immediate affect to Dosti Realty. The notice has been issued by the municipal executive engineer from builder proposal department to stop the construction work and acquire remedial measures.

After the incident happened early morning on Monday, On Tuesday evening, worried residents of Llyod Estate met with structural and geotechnical engineers, BMC ward officer and Dosti Realty consultants to decide on the next plan of action in securing the building. They asked, “There’s still a lot of water seepage. Will it weaken our building? Can the court and our own team supervise the exercise?’’

At the meeting, residents were assured that despite the cracks in the columns supporting the podium the building was not at grave risk. “Our building has a pencil like foundation that goes down into a concrete bed up to 50ft. Also, load bearing structures aren’t affected. We just have to investigate the cracks and ensure landfill is done using proper construction material and not the kind of mix we found being used today comprising thermocol, plastic, sand and stones.”
