As part of smart city projects, NDMC has installed water ATMs and underground bins in 72 projects.

On 25 June 2019 the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) finished 72 projects under the smart city initiative, including the deployment of water ATMs, decentralized wastewater treatment facilities and underground bins, further 39 more projects are in the pipeline, stated by the civic body’s chairman. NDMC president Naresh Kumar said, at a press conference, a total of 111 projects have now been recognized, at Rs.1.576.20 crores and 72 have been finished.

In the context of the legislative body’s efforts on renewable energies, solar roof boards have also been mounted in 92 buildings, together with 95 solar poles in various roundabouts. Two solar-bus-bus queue facilities were also set up, and the solar tree was set up at Connaught Place where the leaves work as solar panels and illuminate the tree at night along with mobile charging facility.
