A 25-year-old building crashed in Thane, 42 Families evacuated.

During the working hours on Saturday (1st June 2019), a part of the second-floor gallery collapsed in Aasha Usha Building located in Thane at Wagle Estate. Fortunately, the official sources noted that there was no casualty or injury.

Panicked people of the building and neighbouring had called the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) and Fire Brigade which came on the site with rescue vehicles. For a safety measure, all 42 rooms’ residents were evacuated from the building.

Rescue authorities said the structure is around 25 years old and initial investigations revealed that a couple of months ago the structure was declared dangerous and retrofitted. Officials have said, that after commissioning a new audit report, they are going to decide on the fate of the structure.
