The government of Maharashtra allocates Rs 7.14 crore in flood-affected districts.

The Pune division commissioner allocated Rs 7.14 crore in the context of compensation for flood aid announced by the State Government to the flood-ravaged districts of Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Solapur.
The study and evaluation undertaken by the authorities noted that 22,962 families have been impacted in that division. Of these, the district authorities ensured Rs 5,000 was provided to 14,299 families in cash, according to state government instructions, whilst the remaining families will quickly be granted this amount. The flood relief compensation for those living in towns was declared Rs 15,000, whereas the flood relief compensation for rural regions impacted has been reported to be Rs 10,000.
Divisional Commissioner, Deepak Mhaisekar, informed that the amount was disbursed along with 2296 quintals of rice and wheat and 10,251 litres of kerosene was circulated to those who had returned to their homes. “While the cash compensation is granted, after they move back to their home, the stuff will be provided as otherwise they will be taken care of in the makeshift camps,” he informed.
The divisional commissioner, with Sangli and Kolhapur, significantly impacted, created arrangements to dispatch enough staff to carry out the aid activities in both districts in an organized way. Nearly 3.11 lakh individuals from the district of Sangli and 4.34 lakh individuals from the districts of Kolhapur are living in shift camps after their homes have been destroyed.
According to authorities, as many as 52 individuals were recorded dead and 4 individuals are missing in the division owing to the floods. Sangli recorded 24 deaths accompanied by Kolhapur, 10, While 8 in the districts of Pune and Satara and one in the district of Solapur. The people missing are one from Sangli, two from Kolhapur and one from the district of Pune.
While the rains have decreased, of the 47 roads that were shut in the district of Sangli, 32 were resumed for activities, while of the 88 roads closed in the district of Kolhapur, 62 were opened for traffic motion. ST buses operate in 37 of the 45 routes. Of the 329 ATMs in the district of Sangli, 226 ATMs are functional, while 320 are operational of the 647 ATMs in the district of Kolhapur, the Pune Divisional Commissioner said.
The department got Rs 6.25 lakh as a portion of the CM relief fund from numerous social organizations and people as part of the flood aid activities. Items such as biscuits, blankets, water bottles, milk powder and other goods were also received by the Pune Divisional Commissioner, which was disbursed to districts devastated by floods. Nearly 43 trucks were sent to Sangli, while 40 trucks were sent to Kolhapur carrying the material for flood relief.
Nearly 425 doctors are working in the districts of Sangli, Kolhapur and Satara, and authorities have arranged to send more teams if necessary.
