Realtors in Rajasthan will be reimbursed for their fees if they build homes for the elderly.
In order to promote housing schemes for senior citizens over the age of 60 in the state, the Urban Development and Housing (UDH) department has decided to grant private developers several exemptions from township policy.
Developers who take on these ‘retirement home’ scheme projects will receive a full refund on the building plan fee, betterment levy, and conversion charges. In this regard, the UDH department has issued a notification. The scheme’s provisions have been incorporated into the township policy. This blueprint was created in response to the United Nations Population Fund’s recommendation (UNFPA).
“The apartment will be especially useful for those whose children live outside and the parents live alone,” said an official. Furthermore, only people over the age of 60 will be able to buy the apartments. The flat’s owner will also be able to rent it out to couples over the age of 60. A married son or daughter will be permitted to temporarily reside with them, and the developer will be required to provide a guest house.”
“Only those orphans who have lost their families as a result of natural disasters or terrorist attacks will be allowed to live with the old residents,” he added. These townships will be built within a residential development 500 metres from the hospital.”
According to the proposal, the township will have a 24-hour emergency medical facility. The developer will also be required to form a partnership with a nearby hospital. On the premises, there will be a pharmacy, a community kitchen, a dining hall, and a shopping centre. “The construction of apartments and flats will meet the needs of senior citizens.” The ground area can only be developed to 40% of its full potential. A 150-square-metre area will be set aside for a four-wheeler.”
