A Detailed Project Report (DPR) on various metro lines, including extensions till the airport and further to Wagholi, is being prepared as approved by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Studies for the extension like Vanaz to Chandni Chowk, Ramwadi to Airport and Wagholi, Swargate to Hadapsar and Swargate to Khadakwasla have been completed.

Recently, the MahaMetro had prepared a DPR for the Swargate-Katraj Metro extension. MahaMetro officials stressed that a presentation of DPR would be soon prepared for the corporators and the civic administration.
