The Lucknow city council is offering a 15% property tax rebate through June 30.

Lucknow: Property owners who pay before June 30th for their 2024–25 financial year tax will receive a 15% reduction from Lucknow Municipal Corporation. Only people without any unpaid tax obligations from prior years are eligible for this discount.

Inderjit Singh, the municipal commissioner, stated: “We used to give 10% off for paying taxes on time. We’ve decided to add an extra 5% to this.

He clarified that the purpose of this policy is to encourage prompt tax payment. For the fiscal year 2023–24, the LMC just recorded its largest yearly revenue ever, surpassing Rs 650 crore. This was mostly because property and house tax collection increased by almost 26%, from Rs 338 crore to Rs 425 crore, over the previous year.

We want to bring in as much as Rs 1,000 crore this year. We will be able to enhance roads, drainage systems, solid waste management, and other public amenities as a result,” he continued.
