Mumbai
MahaMetro has been appointed as construction consultant of City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) for development of Navi Mumbai and Nashik. The Metro agency will help CIDCO in building flyovers and townships and in beautification work.
It is on rare occasions that Nagpur-based agencies work for development of Mumbai. These assignments usually go to agencies of Tier 1 cities.
Metro Managing Director Brijesh Dixit said that the terms and conditions of consultancy were being worked out. “Our international consultants Enia, Systra, Bureau Veritas, etc will assist us in consultancy work,” he added.
CIDCO has also given the task of preparing the detailed project report (DPR) of Nasik light Metro to MahaMetro. The city-based agency is also preparing the DPR of Thane Metro for Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).
Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation (VIDC) has also employed MahaMetro for helping it in executing a project using five dimensional building information modelling (5D BIM). tnn
Dixit said that MahaMetro wanted to earn 50% of its revenue from non-ticket sources. “The consultancy fee from these projects will help us meet our target. We also intend to take up international assignments. German funding agency KfW is very impressed with our work,” he told TOI.
