Directors of Zenal Construction got arrested for not delivering the flat.

Investors plan to secure their future by purchasing a property but, Builders/Developers make the false promise and take out the money from the client.

A similar case happened with an event management firm located near Marine Driver. Two directors of a construction firm got arrested because of duping the proprietor money of Rs.4 crore. The construction firm was supposed to hand over the flat by 2010 in a JVPD building for which they had taken money in 2008 but, they never delivered the flat or returned the money.

Prakash Barot (55) and Umesh Rao (57) are the two directors of Zenal Construction Pvt Ltd. They were presented before Esplanade court, which remanded them at police custody till March 20.

The victim had booked a flat at the 8th floor of 1500sq.ft of the building where these two directors had taken up the redevelopment project. The firm said to keep flats for tenants until 4th floor and rest other flats would be kept for sale. The project got started and, upto 4th floor the building got constructed but sooner BMC sent a stop-work notice. So, the tenants approached a different builder who further took the site. The new developer was kept saying that the construction will start soon, but until the level of patient’s upto the bar of the tenant, there were no inputs seen by the builder. The investor demanded to return the none, failure to that a complaint was lodged and an FIR was filed in October last year for cheating, breach of trust and under various sections of Maharashtra Ownership Flats Act (MOFA).

Police are testing if progressively home-purchasers were bamboozled by the team. Police sources said this was the third case of evidence against Barot. For another situation with Amboli police, under MOFA, an agent said he had paid Rs 2 crore for an apartment in a same project. A home-buyer had filed the FIR in Juhu police too that he had paid Rs 2 crore to the charged.
